Reiko in her life before piracy was a very proper young lady with traditional values and attitudes. As a former head chef of a high class restaurant she is extreme proud of her culinary skills and will her all into every dish or meal she makes.

Kai De Avalon: As captain of her crew Kai is a very important person is Reiko's life. The two first cross paths when a fake food critic turns violent in her restaurant when he is discovered to be fake. When the fake decides to destroy the kitchen for the disrespect they've shown him. Kai, who was a customer at the time, decided to step in to beat down the fake though not before Reiko had been forced to defend herself and slashed the fake's face with a kitchen knife. It turned out that the man Reiko cut and Kai beat down was a high ranking member of the local mafia and impersonating a food critic was past time of his. With so much underworld pressure on to find the woman who cut their man Reiko has to leave the island to escape retribution. At which point she joins Kai's crew.
